Everything comes to pass. Life, hurt, songs, tension, happiness, anxiety, work, friendships, pain, laughter…..and yes, even love.
Nothing lasts forever. But that’s no reason to not enjoy the good times, and to learn from the bad.
Things come and go, people come and go. Everything comes and leaves our lives to teach us things. It’s a part of being a spirit inside a human bodily experience.
People grow up, people learn and people grow out and away from things that they once thought they never would. That’s one of the (many) reasons I don’t want to get married, because marriage is, in one aspect, about stating that you will love, cherish and care for the other person forever. I don’t think that’s possible. Not for me anyway. Actually, scratch that, I believe you can love someone forever, but the way you love them might change. You may love the other person but you might not be IN LOVE with them in umpteen years. I just don’t think that anything lasts forever, the way most people believe, or think they are meant to believe. I don’t want to come across as cynical or pessimistic, that’s not really what I’m getting at. I think it’s more realistic. Like this quote from one of my favourite TV shows One Tree Hill:
I think we can use this as a reminder for all things in life. Just because something ends, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t enjoy the good times while it lasts.
When things are bad, remember: It won’t be this way forever, just take it one day at a time.
When things are good, remember: It won’t be this way forever, just enjoy every great moment.
